Curriculum Vitae

Didier Blavette is Professor of Physics at the University of Rouen (Normandie University, France). He is a specialist of material science (diffusive phase transformations) and instrumentation. He is one of the co-inventors of the French tomographic atom probe (1990-1993), an instrument that has been commercialised by CAMECA. He was the head of the Groupe de Physique des Matériaux (UMR CNRS 6634, Rouen) between 2003 and 2011 and the director of the graduate school SPMII (maths, physics, engineering, information and computer sciences) in Normandie that gathers more than 300 PhD students. He has been the President of the French Microscopy Society and is President of several Prize jurys. Didier Blavette is the author or co-author of around 260 articles and has been invited to more than 70 international meetings and to numerous seminars. He was awarded several prices in Physics and material science and was given the CNRS silver medal in 2000. D. Blavette has been a member of the Institut Universitaire de France (1992-1997 and 2007-2011) and is Chevalier de l’ordre national du mérite.
