Functional Materials and Nanostructures

Leader : Etienne Talbot

The development of nanotechnologies strongly relies on characterization of materials and systems at the atomic scale. This is necessary to understand the relationship between processing, structures and properties which allows the validation of new concepts and the optimization of physical or functional properties (electric, magnetic, optic,…). In this wide field of research, the department is highly specialized in the investigation of materials for nanoelectronics, optoelectronic, photonic and magnetism. Three research teams lead projects on materials for microelectronic and photonic, magnetic materials and reliability of electronic components.
